Easter Events in Bath
Explore the ancient bathing and socialising complex at the Roman Baths, where they have an Animal Magic activity for the Easter holidays. Investigate how the Romans used animal images in decoration and make an animal fridge magnet.
The extraordinary Bath Abbey is a beautiful setting for Easter services and you can also view artworks inspired by churches and cathedrals there, as part of the Let There Be Light Exhibition from 18th April.
Further afield, there’s a dinosaur takeover at Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park this Easter, with a roarsome collection of animatronic dinosaurs and activities like raptor encounters and fossil excavations. At Westonbirt Arboretum, the focus is on much smaller creatures – the Superworm Trail is dedicated to the world of minibeasts.
Head down the rabbit hole at Longleat’s Alice in Wonderland Easter Eggstravaganza. Make origami roses, tackle the Love Maze, play crazy golf in Tulgey Wood, and solve riddles on the park’s giant Easter eggs in return for a special prize.
For an adventurous day out, join the Mendip Activity Centre for everything from an Easter orienteering trail to tobogganing, caving, and axe throwing.

More Springtime Activities in Bath
Spring in Bath is a glorious time to experience the many gardens and parks in and around the city. Enter the magical Woodland Garden at Bowood House. Only open for six weeks a year, wander among bluebells and rare hybrids of rhododendrons, magnolias, and azaleas.
National Trust estate Dyrham Park is running guided tours of the seasonal blooms in its garden and of its parkland, covering the site’s history, archaeology, management and significance.

It’s easy to find crowd-pleasing family food in Bath. Find first-rate rustic pizzas at Dough, based in The Corridor and on Kingsmead Square. Seafood restaurant The Scallop Shell offers half-portion versions of main dishes for kids, including classic cod and chips and freshly made fishcakes. Try Indian street food dishes at Bandook Indian Kitchen, which has a special kids menu.
After a sweet treat? Tuck into a traditional Sally Lunn bun in one of the oldest houses in Bath, or indulge in a chocolate feast at Mrs. Potts Chocolate House. Bath is also the ideal setting to enjoy a quintessentially English afternoon tea. Try Sweet Little Things, who offer perfectly presented sandwiches, scones and cakes against the backdrop of pretty floral décor.
