Flower-inspired names

Spring flowers are iconic symbols of the season, making them perfect for baby names.

Daisy, a timeless favourite, is bright, cheerful, and sweet, evoking the innocence of spring. "Daisy is a name that radiates simplicity and joy, reflecting the fresh energy of the season," explains Kapler. Iris, both the name of a stunning spring flower and the Greek goddess of the rainbow, brings an elegant and hopeful touch. "Iris is a sophisticated, timeless name that symbolises new beginnings," Kapler notes.

Lily, a symbol of purity and renewal, continues to be a beloved choice, particularly in the UK. "Lily is fresh and pure, just like spring itself," says Kapler, "Its popularity speaks to its timeless appeal." Poppy, with its bright petals and association with remembrance, is both playful and meaningful. "Bright and bold, Poppy is as vibrant as the flower itself," adds Kapler.

Nature-inspired names

Nature offers a wealth of inspiration for springtime names, capturing the season's lush greenery and rejuvenating atmosphere.

Meadow is a serene, peaceful name that perfectly captures the feeling of spring's wildflowers. "Meadow embodies the calm, refreshing atmosphere of spring," says Kapler, noting its growing popularity. Willow, with its graceful and lyrical quality, evokes the beauty of spring’s gentle breezes and weeping trees. "Willow is an earthy, graceful name that speaks to tranquility," shares Kapler.

Solana, meaning "sunlight" in Spanish, reflects the warmth of spring’s golden rays. "Solana is modern and radiant, ideal for a baby born as the days get longer," Kapler remarks.

Unique and intriguing spring names

For parents looking for something a little less conventional, these names offer a unique yet spring-inspired vibe.

Saffron, inspired by the rich golden hues of the saffron flower, feels both exotic and celebratory of the season. "Saffron is unique and vibrant, just like the spice it’s named after," shares Kapler. April, deeply connected to the season, is a simple yet meaningful name. "April works so well for a spring baby. It’s timeless and reflects the growth and renewal of the season," Kapler adds.

For the boys

Spring-inspired names for boys can be just as charming and meaningful. Reed, like the tall plants found near waterways, is simple yet full of meaning. "Reed has a fresh, natural sound, making it perfect for a springtime boy," says Kapler.

Cedar, evoking images of fragrant trees, offers a rare, grounded choice for a boy’s name. "Cedar is a strong, unique name that reflects nature’s stability," Kapler explains.

Finn, with its Irish roots meaning "fair" or "white," is a simple, energetic name that reflects the freshness of spring. "Finn evokes a sense of exploration, which fits perfectly with spring’s energy," shares Kapler. River, a name connected to flowing waters and renewal, is calming and refreshing. "River flows with energy and calmness, just like the spring waters it represents," Kapler notes.

“Choosing a spring-inspired name for your little one can add a touch of nature’s beauty and joy to their life from the very beginning.

“Whether you’re drawn to floral names like Daisy or Poppy, nature-inspired choices like Meadow or Reed, or something a bit more unique like Solana or Saffron, there’s a spring name to suit every taste.

These names not only capture the essence of the season but also carry timeless beauty and meaning that will last for years to come,” the expert concluded.
