Paignton Zoo's GloWild winter light experience
We were lucky enough to be invited to the Press Launch of Paignton Zoo’s GloWild winter light experience last night and we had such a lovely time!
The Zoo has been transformed into a ‘neon extravaganza of immersive installations, light tunnels and illuminated animals’, which was so pretty and it was lovely to see the Zoo in a whole different way.
One of the first exhibits was an interactive light show that involved two seals You could press a button and it shot a bar of light from one seal to the other going over an archway, which gave the illusion of two seals throwing a ball to each other.
Then we followed a lovely lit pathway to see the other exhibits, stopping to look at characters who were dressed up and provided extra magical experiences along the way.
The silent disco was a fantastic addition! My children had never been to a silent disco before, so this blew their minds a bit! There were two characters dressed as starfish who talked to everyone through the headphones and encouraged them to move in various ways.
We finished off our evening in the restaurant, which was festively decorated and had a band playing. We ate festive-themed Turkey rolls, ate cake, and had a delicious hot chocolate, where we talked about our favourite part of the evening.
Thank you very much to Paignton Zoo for having us, we will certainly be recommending this experience to our friends.
I just want to make it clear that you don't see any of the Zoo animals during this experience. They are also safely shut away and it is too dark to see any animals that may be roaming beyond fences. This didn't detract from our experience at all, but it is definitely worth telling your children this before you go so they aren't expecting to see any.
