The sustainable laundry service that you need to try!
For many parents, laundry is considered to be a chore - a never ending washing-pile, the fear of shrinking your favourite jumper, the nuisance of taking that delicate item of clothing to the dry-cleaners - the cycle never ends... and neither does our washing machine.
Thankfully, on-demand laundry service Oxwash is here to help the washing industry and those very busy parents with its next generation eco cleaning and logistics platforms.
Oxwash collects your laundry, ironing and items that need to be specially cleaned straight from your doorstep via their fleet of electric cargo bikes - the ideal solution for a green, clean and efficient mode of transport. Items are thoroughly hand-inspected, pre-treated where necessary then washed using state-of-the-art, low-impact washing technology.
The Oxwash process marries the delicate balance of human touch with sustainable methods and is designed to treat your items delicately and appropriately. Loved clothes last, and the superior, gentle care provided by Oxwash will also extend the life of a garment by up to three times.
Located in Cambridge, Oxford, Battersea and North London; the on-demand laundry service also has major ambitions for national expansion this year.
Available for consumers and businesses; Oxwash is the cleaning partner to fashion rental companies such as HURR. Meaning that anyone dialling up their fashion eco-creds by renting or borrowing via those platforms, will have an environmentally-friendly experience from start to finish - right to the garments being cleaned by Oxwash.
The UK-based service launched to turn the traditional and environmentally costly washing and dry-cleaning process upside-down. Oxwash uses an innovative technique called ‘wet cleaning’ - a sustainable alternative to harmful dry cleaning and a better clean all-round, in a better way.
Founded by an ex-NASA scientist, the Oxwash team began building a series of hyper efficient Lagoons, powered by renewable energy and precision cold temperature washing machines. Each hub can churn through an impressive 500kgs of laundry per week.
Ozone deployment in the Oxwash process can successfully disinfect and deodorise at ambient temperatures of 20’C, reducing emissions by 45% compared to using high temperatures, and in turn reducing the risk of shrinkage and colour run of a garment - which also prolongs its life.
Oxwash also has a strategic partnership with the heritage clothes care brand Vanish. The ‘Oxwash, powered by Vanish’ partnership means that Oxwash uses the new Vanish sustainable formula - Vanish 0% - to help give old clothes a new lease of life and prevent tonnes of clothes from ending up in landfill.
Furthermore, the award-winning service uses methods to reduce water consumption, compared to using a standard washing machine, whilst removing microfibre pollution at the same time.
