Enjoy A Restriction Free Easter With These Fun Activities
Easter egg hunt
A classic easter egg hunt is a great way to get all the family involved, even the grown ups, because who doesn't love finding chocolate treats? Buy some individually wrapped chocolate eggs which can be found in supermarkets at reasonable prices, hiding them around the house, garden or local park before letting your family run wild to try and grab them. If you want to take it up a notch and elongate the fun, include general knowledge questions to get the older ones thinking or create some challenges along the way to release everyone's competitive sides!
Easter bonnets
Let your creativity run wild by designing your very own Easter bonnets, bringing out your crafty side to create a traditional headpiece. In many craft shops you can purchase a simple kit to follow or even use an old hat you have laying around, using stickers and paints to decorate it. This is a great idea for small children, keeping them occupied during the school holidays so you can enjoy some adult conversation while the kids get stuck into the fun stuff.
Chocolate cornflake cakes
Wondering what to do with the piles of chocolate you have taking over your kitchen sides? Why not get the kids involved and whip up some Easter cornflake cakes? Simply melt down the chocolate and add in cornflakes plus any other treats you fancy like marshmallows, nuts or dried fruit. Add the mixture to cupcake cases before topping with miniature chocolate eggs and then putting them into the fridge to set. These are super delicious, use up all the extra Easter egg chocolate and the children will love making them.
Decorate your house
Brighten up your home and welcome guests into your Spring haven by decorating the space with Easter themed decorations. Most supermarkets and craft shops sell well priced Easter decorations which you can use to quickly transform your home or if you’ve got the time, why not get creative and make your own? Create paper chains, design flower arrangements or paint eggs, getting the whole family involved so you can sit back and admire your handy work.
A countryside stroll
With the blue skies, blossoming flowers and baby animals finally upon us, there’s no better time of year to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Make the most of the children being off school and get the family together for a nice walk, visiting your favourite spots or exploring somewhere new. This is a great way for the children to burn off some energy (and chocolate!) and to keep them well entertained; you could even give them a list of items they need to spot such as a horse in a field, an oak tree or a yellow car.
