New research by The Family Vacation Guide has looked at 36 of the biggest theme parks worldwide to reveal the world’s most and least expensive theme parks in 2022.

The research reveals:
- Drayton Manor in Staffordshire is the cheapest theme park in the UK and has - along with Blackpool Pleasure Beach, 39 rides which averages out at £0.79 per ride.
- On the other end of the scale, Alton Towers is the most expensive amusement park in the UK with the worst value of cost per ride.

- Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, South Africa is the cheapest theme park in the world.
- 9 out of 10 of the most expensive theme parks are located in America, being home to some of the world’s most popular theme parks this may come as no surprise.
- Ranking in the 1st position as the most expensive theme park in 2022 is Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Florida which also ranks 1st as the most expensive price per ride
- Cedar Point, Sandusky, US appears 10th on the most expensive list but it actually has the lowest price per ride at £0.35.
