It’s also a place to discover intrigue and history seeping out of every nook and cranny. From old cobbled streets to a place where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America more than 400 years ago, to the Spanish Armada being spotted by Sir Francis Drake from Plymouth Hoe to its proud association with the armed forces, the Barbican is a fascinating place that Flapjackery want more people to discover. picture of Sweet treats at Flapjackery Plymouth Flapjackery co-founder Carol Myott said: “We absolutely love Plymouth and the Barbican, and since we opened a year ago, it's been great. We’d love more people to share that same enthusiasm we have for this historic part of Plymouth so we’ve created a free quiz for children, and all those that complete will be given a free chocolate beanie lolly, which is utterly delicious!”   Flapjackery itself is located in Plymouth’s oldest shop - the famous Yarmouth Stores - which first opened in 1898. It closed in 2017, and today its bustling shops that sell a myriad of sweet treats including Flapjackery’s famous huge chunks of flapjack.   The trail takes in the sites and sounds of the Barbican with an array of questions, from colouring in Smeaton’s Tower to discovering the actual date the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America.  The free trail is available by popping into Flapjackery on Southside St which is open every day from 10 am until 5 pm and until 4 pm on Sundays. picture of Plymouth Barbican Trail Leaflet Chocolate treats for children who complete Flapjackery’s free new Barbican Trail
