TRIPLE GOLD for The Positive Birth Company in the Made for Mums Awards 2022
The Positive Birth Company wins GOLD in the following three categories: Parenting Brand of the Year, Pregnancy/Birth Product & Service and Technology Product for Babies and Families, in the Made for Mums Awards 2022.
The Positive Birth Company has been crowned 'Parenting Brand of the Year' and is the first small independent business to win this prestigious award.
Made for Mums state: "The Positive Birth Company’s mission is to make antenatal and postnatal education more accessible to everyone. Offering both in-person and online courses as well as workshops and coaching, PBC also created an award-winning app, the Freya app, which is a hypnobirthing-friendly surge (contraction) timer and virtual birth partner. Judges noted how, over the last year, the brand has launched 3 community-based campaigns – Birthing The Future, – a celebration of the diversity of parenthood, Proud Parent – sharing stories on the journey to parenthood from the LGBTQIA+ community, and Playtime – a series of free videos full of activities to keep children busy during lockdown."
In the words of MadeForMums Editorial Director, Susie, mum of 3: “It’s been a powerful year for Positive Birth Company, which has brilliantly brought to life an inclusive approach through its campaigns and courses, while also focusing on mental health support within its new Pregnancy Pack.”
The Positive Birth Company's app 'Freya' wins Gold for the second time in 'Technology Product for Babies and Families'. Freya is the world's first hypnobirthing-friendly surge (contraction) timer and virtual birth partner app. Available in 6 different languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese), you can download Freya worldwide from both the App Store and the Play Store.
Made for Mums state: "Developed by The Positive Birth Company, this app is a hypnobirthing-friendly contraction timer which aims to act as a virtual birth partner. It includes a timer to record and log your contractions and you can even share the data with your partner, midwife or doula. Judges rated the fact there are also guided relaxations, positive affirmations, coaching audio and visuals designed to get labouring mums to focus on their breathing. Comments from women who have used the app are overwhelmingly positive with one saying: “The Freya app was a godsend as my labour was 7 days long.”
In the words of MFM judge Gemma Cartwright, who tested this during her labour: “For £3, it tracks your contractions and helps you breathe through them, which is so useful in the early stages of labour. I think investing in this when you’re about to give birth is a no-brainer. Can be bought on its own or as part of the hypnobirthing pack.”
The Positive Birth Company's bestselling course 'The Hypnobirthing Digital Pack' wins Gold in 'Pregnancy/Birth Product and Service'.
Made for Mums state: "The Positive Birth Company's hypnobirthing program is packed full of great content including 6+ hours of video content on hypnobirthing and 8 MP3s covering guided meditations, positive affirmations and breathing practice. Mums loved the comprehensive and easy to follow program which they felt offered great value. Tester Sian, who is pregnant, noted, “It was logical and easy to navigate from section to section.” For our testers who followed the program but didn’t have a natural birth they still reported a very positive overall experience having followed the course during pregnancy."
In the words of tester Sian, who is pregnant: “It has made me genuinely look at the stages of labour and hypnobirthing principles in a different perspective and opened my mind up as to how this can be applied in practice.”
Siobhan Miller, founder of The Positive Birth Company, commented: “I cannot believe we have won TRIPLE GOLD!! And to be named ‘Parenting Brand of the Year’ is just incredible! I think we may be the first small business to win this award. It really is testament to the hard work of our small team, our amazing global community of parents and our commitment to always putting people before profit. We are dedicated to making education and support affordable, accessible and inclusive and are so proud to be making a positive difference in the world, and for this to be recognised is just fantastic!"
